Dear CMP-Carmichael Learning Community,
My name is Laurien Spiller and it is my privilege to serve the CMP mission and community at California Montessori Project, Carmichael.
To briefly share my background, I entered the field of education because I was inspired by Montessori education. I was further excited by the opportunities that quality, tuition-free, Montessori charter schools could provide to students. From that time, I became committed to this work and soon began teaching in Montessori charter schools. I loved my work as a Montessori teacher and in time that evolved into serving in an administrative capacity. Before returning to CMP, my positions in leadership included Director/Principal of a Montessori charter school and Director of Fiscal Services in a mid-sized elementary school district in Southern California.
My academic background includes a M.A. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, a B.A. in Visual Art, an Administrative Services Credential and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and an American Montessori Society Primary Credential. Additionally, I have extensive training in school business and operations.
I deeply value the staff, students, and families at CMP-Carmichael and am committed to working in partnership as we support the students to develop to their fullest potential. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve your community! Your thoughts, feedback, and questions are always welcome, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Warmly,
Ms. Laurien Spiller, Principal
