We are committed to partnering with our parents to ensure that our school programs are meeting the needs of our students and their families. We appreciate you taking a few minutes each quarter to provide us with valuable feedback via our online parent surveys.
The feedback that parents provided during our Fall Conferences gave us some great ideas for improvements to our school. We found this survey information useful, and want to thank you again for providing your feedback in a positive and constructive way.
Below is our survey for the Spring, please take a moment to fill this out. Thank you in advance for your participation

Hello, Carmichael Families,
It is Ms. Kim again.
Just a few reminders before we head off for Spring Break:
- First, if you have not completed the Parent Survey, please do so tomorrow. I will be compiling the information next week to share with the CMP Leadership Team
- Next, there are some See’s Candy orders that have not been picked up, so please do so tomorrow. There are a few items available still for sale, if you thought of other needs.
- Lastly, please plan on attending the Pancake Breakfast tomorrow. The special ed staff never has an opportunity to fund raise for their classrooms, so they are hosting the breakfast. It would be wonderful for them to receive your support while enjoying a delicious breakfast.
I wish you all a fun, relaxing break. We’ll see you back on April 21st.

March 31, 2014
What a wonderful sight it is to see the excitement and joy in children’s eyes when they are given the opportunity to experience something new. With funding from the state to purchase needed items to implement the federal Common Core State Standards, our students have been busily exploring the Smarter Balanced Practice Tests on our brand new laptops.
If your child is in 3rd through 8th grade, they have been accessing portions of the Practice Tests this past week and will continue to do so through the week of March 31. It has been extremely fun to watch how quickly the students are maneuvering through this type of testing platform and how much they are enjoying working on the laptops. One teacher remarked that she wished she had a camera to capture the look on the children’s faces as they opened the laptop for the first time and plugged in the mouse to get ready to work.
The Smarter Balanced tests will generally be taken on computers, and the Practice Tests provide a good idea of what the new tests will look like. The Practice Tests are available for everyone to use at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/sa/practicetest.asp. There is a Practice Test for each grade, third through eighth in both English–language Arts and Math. Each Practice Test has about 30 questions, as well as an answer key.
The actual Field Test will take place April 21 through May 7. There will be no reporting of scores for this year’s Field Test.
If you have any questions, please contact me via email or phone call.
Thank you to all of our parent volunteers
for your support!!!
