Dear CMP Carmichael Families:
Welcome to the start of the 2014-2015 school
year. The office and teaching staff are
excited to see our new and returning students and families.
We would like to share with you some important
2014-2015 school calendar additions. The
California Department of Education just recently notified districts of their
testing windows for the California Assessment of Student Performance and
Progress (CAASPP) and the Science California Standards Test (CST).
The testing window for the Smarter Balanced on-line
tests for English Language Arts and Mathematics for grades 3-8 will open on
Wednesday, March 4 and close on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Science CSTs for 5th and 8th grade

Hello, Carmichael Families,
On Monday we will begin our regular drop-off routine. Starting
at 8:00, students dropped off at the loop will gather in the small gym and then
be escorted at 8:25 to their classrooms.
Parents wishing to walk their children to the classroom may
still do so, but we ask that you wait in your car until 8:20, then walk to the
gate, which will be opened at 8:25.
There is to be no drop-off and entry through the office,
since there is no oversight of the children when entering that way.
Monday evening is the Back to School Night for Tk/K and
upper elementary classes. Wednesday will be the meetings for lower elementary.
On both evenings, we will begin with a general meeting at 6:00. In order to
gather everyone together, Carmichael Parks is allowing us to use the large John
Smith Hall which is next to the La Sierra office off of the Engle lot. This
meeting will be brief, so please arrive on time, and remember, this is an adult
It was wonderful to see everyone back this week. Rest up,
and we’ll see you Monday!
